I was saddened to hear of the news back in July. My only contact with Stephen was in his capacity as Editor of Climatic Change. Like Russell said above, he was very helpful and generous with his time and he will be greatly missed by the community.

I just saw that Stephen Schneider passed away on July 19 of this year.  I only met the gentleman once, when he came to Cornell to speak, but he was very generous with his time and advice to me then.

My interest is the impacts of climate, and especially precipitation changes, on water resources. In particular, I am analyzing changes in precipitation intensity, duration, seasonality, etc. on components of the terrestrial hydrological cycle.
